About Me:

Hi, my name is Courtney and I'm from England. I have a strong passion for both playing and making video games and love everything about it from
conceptualisation to 3D Modelling, to Programming and Refining. I've known what I wanted to do for a lot of my life and have had enjoyed
worldbuilding since I was very young, often planning out elaborate stories with many characters and adventures for them to go on. In college,
I finally started combining this with my love for games and would start writing outlines of my own potential games.Though I still have a long
way to go in the games industry, creating a game from nothing is truly an amazing experience and I would be so grateful working on a team
with like-minded people.

My Current Projects:

Shiver

Shiver is my third year group project in university. It's a 3D sci-fi horror game with a focus on keeping yourself warm whilst also being cautious of the unknown threat potentially around any corner.

GDD currently in development...

Adaption

A 2D creature collecting game where you must strategise to defeat other varieties whilst trying to figure out what has caused the current downfall of the world. With crafting, fighting and exploration, this is my current independent focus.

Avoid

My long term project. A lot of the inital planning has been done for it such as a Game Design Document as well as feedback and the core concepts iterated upon. The main focus for it is a 2D action adventure game with the priority being the boss fights and how they feel.

Blender Blitz - 3 Team Game Jam

This project was a game jam to try and complete a game within a week with the theme 'Spin to Win'. For this it would test me and my team to limit the scale and make sure we had a working product by the end. I worked as the artist as well as lead to ensure our deadlines were all met on time. Alongside me was Antonio the lead programmer and Rachel who was in charge of the music and sound effects who are both extremely talented and helped bring such a creative idea to life with a short span.
I am extremely proud of my team as we also worked during a heatwave and yet we ended up with a complete little demo in time for submitting.

Test the game out for free!

This Website!

While not a game or software of any sort, I also made this website from scratch. Though I had made sites before it was usually through templates or things such as Wix and so this was my first time making something with no help. I learnt a lot through Youtube and trial and error to achieve a look I mostly like but have plans to update. I enjoyed HTML a lot however CSS will still take some time to fully understand. I also made my site usable on mobile devices as well and added a gallery of all of my work and will continue to keep it up to date. I also learnt about publishing sites through Git pages which has been extremely useful!

My Portfolio

Here are some of my proudest, recent pieces of work however, by following the link you can find my entire portfolio.

Sculpting and Rigging

A personal piece. From concept to exporting, I drew then 3D modelled a dragon. As well as this I rigged it and provided it with a few basic animations.

Level Design

A small snowy mountain level with focus on immersion. Feeling like you are truly there in the snowy, harsh environment. Planned everything from the height map to where the set dressings would go.

Hard Surface Modelling

After seeing so many others making isometric rooms, I wanted to make my own cosy space. Sketched after my personal work space, I then 3D modelled each part and added some mood lighting.
